Talent Show Highlights!


Congratulations to Kennedy, Owen, Maggie, Samantha, Hailey, Hannah, Rachel, Amelia, Emma and Tianna on your outstanding performances in today's talent show.  We are very proud of all of you!   A special congratulations to Tianna who recently recorded Titanium by Sia in a recording studio.   Click here to hear Tianna sing.  It will download from my dropbox.  Enjoy!  We are so proud of her!

YouTube ...So Much More Than A Video Viewer





People of all ages find themselves watching YouTube videos on a daily basis.  Over 4 billion hours of video are watched each month on YouTube.  But did you realize that viewing videos is just the tip of the iceberg? 

Visit YouTube.com/editor to discover the possibilities of editing videos in the cloud.  Once you sign into the video editor on YouTube, you will be able to:
         
      Combine multiple videos and images you've uploaded to create a new video
      Trim your clips to custom lengths
      Add music to your video from a library of approved tracks
      Customize clips with special tools and effects



          
Edit videos that you have uploaded or find editable videos in the Creative Commons section to compliment what you are doing.  Once your video is complete, you can publish it to share it with others.

Carly visits St. Joe's

Carly has now received over 500 responses from 12 different countries on her survey attempting to identify the 5 Most Pressing Global Issues.  Huge thanks to Mr. Barron and his grade 12 class for assisting Carly with her sorting out her responses.

5 Most Pressing Global Issues:
  • spend time researching the sites provided by Mr. Engstrom
  • consider visiting the Free The Children Site @ http://www.freethechildren.com
  • figure out between 5 - 8 topics that you feel are important and worth researching
  • send an email to your group members - in your email you need to include what you feel are pressing issues, a few sentences telling them about the We Day and a link to the free the children site … encourage them to check it out as an additional resource
  • include me in your email so that I know what your top 5 list includes laurie_clement@wecdsb.on.ca

Team Hungary
  • they have had some holidays so that is why they may not have been posting.  
  • their teacher said they would post by end of Friday
  • if they have posted what they want to do, awesome!  Please read through the list of jobs they wish to do. More than one person will do each category. In our class... Everyone can work on their first choice as long as there are people in each category. Can someone from your group make a list of all the current jobs request from everyone in your group and share it with me on Google Docs. Thanks!

  • awesome job, yesterday.  I loved that everyone connected and we can get underway.  I saw they posted tons and plan to check that out soon.  I hope that we can begin posting our ideas as well
  • please keep in mind they are just learning english like you learn french.  can you imagine speaking only french and about topics like geography, economics, political science, etc.  So please be understanding, kind and patient
